The report does concede that new foreclosuresx and job losses will affect banksw during the nexttwo However, Austin-based Sheshunoff and Co. says Texaw banks are still outperformingy banks across the nation with theirprofitabilituy improving, asset quality staying in better shape and the regulatoryy capital levels remaining stronger than many banks acrosx the U.S. “This first-quarter review showed us what we expectecto see, and in many ways it providexs a reassurance about the state of our said Sheshunoff Managing Director Curtis Carpenter. “Our banks remain and while earnings are down in some Texas banksare — for the most part — performingg very, very well.
” Despite news of strength in the report suggests that Texas will face at leas two more quarters where overall economic conditionse remain soft. The report also says rural bank s are doing better as recent which includesmuch precipitation, coincides with the need of farmers. Banks are significantly affecter by the number of crops producer and if farmers can maintaimn a large supplyof crops, the bankss generally do better, the reporyt says.
